Bibione Bike Experience
Bibione is the ideal destination for cycling enthusiasts! The city offers as many as 29 cycle routes of varying difficulty, to explore the coast and the hinterland of the Veneto. Starting from the lighthouse in Bibione and ending at the lighthouse in Cavallino Treporti, a total of over 400 km in the midst of nature, past cities of art and ancient villages.
The Lighthouse in Bibione
At the mouth of the Tagliamento River stands the lighthouse of Bibione, one of the most lyrical sights in this town. Built at the beginning of the twentieth century, it presents a simple and linear architecture, characterised by a tall white tower and an adjacent yellow and white checkered house. It is a remarkable place: the lighthouse is set in a context of great natural and historical importance. Those who wish to visit it, embark on a slow journey that can only be done on foot or by bicycle.
Valgrande
Valgrande represents the great natural beauty of Bibione, a protected green lung of no less than 360 hectares, to be visited on foot, by bicycle or kayak. Lovers of nature will find themselves in an oasis nestled between sea, land and lagoon. Over the years, this fishing valley has remained unspoilt and continues to host flowers of particular botanical importance as well as very rare animal species. The Valgrande is only accessible on a guided tour.
Portogruaro
Less than 30 km from Bibione lies this elegant town steeped in history, culture and culinary tradition. Portogruaro overlooks the river and features many bridges and arcades that render it a Venice of the hinterland. Between ancient palaces of different architectural styles, still functioning mills, famous frescoes and a market that is thousands of years old, this town is truly unforgettable.
